Mohammad Riaz's profile

NACE's Student Scholarships and Awards

A construction management alumnus of Brooklyn College, Mohammad Riaz has served as manager of National Restoration Group, Inc., since 2010. Supplementing his experience in project bidding and management, Mohammad Riaz holds membership with the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE).

Founded in 1943 to establish industry-wide corrosion prevention and control measures as well as to develop education and certification programs, NACE also works to promote the study of engineering and corrosion science at the post-secondary level. The organization's charitable foundation operates a scholarship program through which college and university students can earn funding to support their education. Students can receive upwards of $10,000 to help cover tuition, fees, books, and other supplies. Scholarship recipients are honored each year in March at the NACE Annual Conference.

To support students attending this conference, financial assistance is granted through NACE's Travel Assistance Program. A total of $25,000 is allocated for student travel each year with $300 being the maximum received per applicant. The program is open not only to scholarship recipients but also Technical Program and Student Poster Session presenters.

The organization also presents the Outstanding Student Award to one student who has been of significant service to NACE International, the group's foundation, its student chapters, or the ACC Student Subcommittee. The most recent recipient of the award was University of Akron student Nicholas D'Angelo.
